Gingivitis is inflammation of the surface of the gum, when the tissues around the tooth are not yet damaged. The dentist removes the deposits, treats the inflamed areas and puts together a home care routine for you.

What we treat and how: pick a step
Gingivitis
Plaque and tartar along the gum line cause inflammation of the surface of the gum. The bone and ligaments are not yet affected.
The dentist measures the depth of the gum sulcus and, if needed, orders an X-ray to rule out periodontitis.
An ultrasonic scaler removes tartar and soft plaque, including from just under the gum line.
The tooth surfaces are polished, and antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agents are applied to the inflamed areas.
The gums usually recover within 10–14 days, after which the dentist does a follow-up exam.

Prices are per the price list. The dentist draws up a treatment plan with costs after an exam and diagnostics.
Mild inflammation may subside after a few days of careful brushing. But tartar will not disappear by itself: it can only be removed with instruments. As long as the tartar stays, the bleeding only eases temporarily, while the inflammation continues under the gum line.
With pronounced inflammation, the gum line may feel sensitive during treatment. If needed, the dentist applies a topical anesthetic. Bleeding while the deposits are being removed is a normal response of inflamed tissue, not a sign of injury.
The main procedure is done in one visit and takes about an hour. The gums recover within 10–14 days, after which the dentist does a follow-up exam. If there is a lot of buildup, the cleaning is sometimes split into two visits.
They reduce the symptoms but do not remove the cause — bacterial deposits. Constant use of antiseptic mouthwash disrupts the natural balance of bacteria in the mouth. Such products are appropriate as a supplement to treatment, in short courses.
Healthy gums are firm, pale pink and do not bleed when you brush or floss. If the bleeding persists after two weeks, you need a repeat exam: some deposits may remain, or the process may be deeper than it seemed.
Brush twice a day, paying special attention to the gum line, and clean between your teeth every day with floss, interdental brushes or a water flosser. Do not stop brushing if your gums bleed during the first few days. Get a professional cleaning every 6 months.

I had a professional teeth cleaning with Dr. Olena Vitaliivna and was very pleased! The doctor was extremely attentive and caring, kept asking how I was feeling throughout the procedure and worked very gently. The procedure was quick and comfortable, and the result exceeded my expectations — my teeth are perfectly clean and even look whiter. I also want to thank the administrator for her friendliness and attention. She advised me on mouthwashes and recommended a treatment product that I could buy right there at the dental office, which was very convenient. I sincerely recommend this dental practice!
A very conveniently located dental office🤩 easy to get to, the administrator Olha is friendly, and they cleaned my teeth very professionally👍😍 thank you
I had my teeth cleaned at this dental office and was absolutely delighted. The procedure was quick, gentle and without any discomfort. My teeth are now smooth and clean, and the doctor also gave useful advice on care at home. Thank you for the service!
The most comfortable tartar removal I've ever had. The doctor also told me about problem areas worth paying attention to. A big plus is that they don't invent problems you don't have. I want to come back again.
Dr. Tetiana Viacheslavivna did a full professional hygiene treatment, and I liked it very much — quick and painless, and my teeth feel nice and smooth) Thank you!

I had a professional hygiene appointment. A very attentive and professional doctor
We had an appointment with Dr. Olesia Volodymyrivna. The doctor carefully examined my two children and found gum inflammation in my son; a baby tooth needed to be removed. And the child had no complaints at all. We're very grateful that the doctor noticed the bad tooth in time!
I really liked this dental office. I came as an emergency (I urgently needed help on a Sunday evening). They booked me quickly and with understanding of the situation. A tooth with a complicated history (gum surgery, long treatment and prosthetics), and all of it was done in…

Blood on your toothbrush is not "sensitive enamel" and not normal. Gingivitis is often visible without any instruments: the gums turn red and swell, the gum tissue between the teeth flattens out, and the tissue becomes puffy and shiny instead of firm and pale pink. Bad breath returns within a few hours of brushing, and soft deposits or dark tartar are visible along the gum line.
Similar signs also occur with periodontitis, where the treatment is completely different. That is why the dentist first checks exactly what they are dealing with.
Hormonal changes make the gums more sensitive to bacterial plaque. Blood vessels become more permeable, and the tissue responds with inflammation even to a small amount of buildup. That is why during adolescence and pregnancy the gums may bleed more than before, even with the same oral hygiene.
More careful home care and a professional cleaning help. During pregnancy, the cleaning is usually done in the second trimester, in agreement with your doctor.
The core of treatment is a professional cleaning, and its cost depends on the amount of buildup. If you look after your teeth regularly, the procedure is simpler than when tartar has built up over years. Sometimes the inflammation is localized and only a few areas need treatment: then the cost is calculated by the number of teeth.
The dentist gives you the exact price after the exam, before any work begins. Prices for cleaning and gum treatment are on the Prices page.
