How is Varios Combi Pro different from regular Air Flow?
Varios Combi Pro combines ultrasound and the Air Flow air-abrasion system in one device. It regulates the water supply and vibration frequency on its own and works with a fine powder that does not scratch the enamel.
Does the cleaning hurt?
The ultrasound power and powder flow are adjusted to how sensitive your teeth are. If your teeth are sensitive, let the dentist know before the procedure.
Is the cleaning safe for veneers, crowns and implants?
Yes, the device has gentle modes and erythritol- or glycine-based powders that are suitable for titanium abutments, ceramic veneers and restorations.

Why iPiezo ultrasound is gentle on enamel
The iPiezo handpiece by NSK monitors the ultrasonic vibration frequency as it works. It adjusts the power to the density of the buildup. When the tip touches the gums or smooth enamel, the power drops automatically. This lets the dentist remove tartar without damaging the enamel, and people with sensitive teeth find the procedure easier. Ultrasound removes tartar both above and below the gum line.
How micropowder differs from baking soda powder
Unlike outdated baking soda powder, modern micropowders have fine, rounded granules. They polish the surface gently, with no abrasive damage to the enamel and no irritation of the gums. This powder reaches plaque between the teeth, under the gums, and around implants and braces. Those are exactly the places where stains from coffee, tea and smoking are hardest to remove with a regular toothbrush. At the end, the teeth are polished further with special pastes.
