Why do I need an X-ray before treatment?
An X-ray shows the condition of the root and bone tissue, hidden inflammation, and how deep a cavity between the teeth goes. Without it, the dentist cannot make an accurate diagnosis or draw up a treatment plan.
How is a CT scan different from a regular X-ray?
A digital dental X-ray is a flat image of one or two teeth. A CT scan creates a 3D model of the whole jaw. It is needed to plan implants, complex extractions, and to assess the jaw joint (TMJ).
Can children have X-rays?
A digital X-ray unit uses a minimal dose of radiation, dozens of times lower than old film machines. The image is taken with special protective shielding. For a child, the dentist orders imaging only for specific reasons.
Can I get an X-ray without seeing a dentist?
A dental X-ray is only taken during a consultation with a dentist. A 3D scan (CT) and a cephalometric X-ray can be done as a separate service.
How do I prepare for a CT scan or a cephalometric X-ray?
No special preparation is needed. Before the scan, you need to remove metal jewelry, hairpins, glasses, and removable dentures from the head and neck area.
How much do diagnostics cost?
The cost depends on the type of image: a dental X-ray, a CT scan of a segment or a full 3D scan, a cephalometric X-ray in one or two projections. Prices are fixed according to the price list, and all of them are on the Prices page.

The three-dimensional image shows the anatomy of the jaw from every angle and helps avoid complications during treatment.
Why a cephalometric X-ray is needed
A cephalometric X-ray is a lateral or frontal image of the head. The orthodontist uses it to analyze how the jaws relate to each other, the position of the teeth, and the facial profile.
