The dentist removes the teeth that cannot be saved and places six implants using a surgical guide.
A fixed temporary bridge is made from optical impressions and attached to the implants on the day of surgery or within 1–3 days.
The implants fuse with the bone over 3 to 6 months, and you wear the temporary prosthesis the whole time.
Once the implants have healed, a permanent zirconia or metal-ceramic prosthesis is placed.

How is All-on-6 different from All-on-4?
The number of anchors. With All-on-6, the prosthesis rests on six implants: the load is spread better and the restoration is more stable. That is why All-on-6 is sometimes an option when All-on-4 cannot be placed.
Can I get a temporary prosthesis on the day of surgery?
In most cases, yes. The fixed temporary prosthesis is attached on the day of surgery or within 1–3 days after it.
How long do the implants take to heal?
Six implants take 3 to 6 months to heal. You wear the temporary prosthesis the whole time.
Is bone grafting needed?
The side implants are often placed at an angle to engage denser bone. So in most cases a sinus lift or bone grafting can be avoided. The dentist decides whether they are needed based on the CT scan.
How do I care for a prosthesis on six implants?
Brush the prosthesis twice a day, flush the space under it with a water flosser, and come in for professional cleaning twice a year.
How much does All-on-6 cost?

My husband and I take care of our teeth all the time. We were treated at a German dental practice, then a Turkish one, so we have something to compare with. All-on-6 is considered when a jaw has no teeth, or the teeth are loose from advanced periodontitis and cannot be treated. The protocol is especially suitable when the bone in the back of the jaw is badly resorbed or soft, and when you have a strong bite: six anchors make the restoration stronger and more rigid. Many patients choose this method to restore their teeth without extra bone grafting or a sinus lift. The dentist makes the final decision after 3D diagnostics.
Why six implants carry the load better
When teeth have been missing for a long time, the bone gradually loses density, and every anchor under the prosthesis matters more. Six implants shorten the distance between the points of support. As a result, the prosthesis does not flex even when you chew hard food, and the pressure is spread evenly across the whole arch. Each individual implant carries a smaller share of the load than in a restoration with fewer anchors.
Zirconia or metal-ceramic for the permanent prosthesis
The temporary prosthesis serves while the implants heal, and is then replaced with a permanent one, zirconia or metal-ceramic. Zirconium oxide is very strong, reproduces the translucency and shade of natural enamel well, and does not change color over time. The material affects both the look of the prosthesis and the overall cost of treatment, so the dentist goes over the options with you at the planning stage, when drawing up the estimate for all stages.
