We treat the root canals of baby teeth with pulpitis or periodontitis to keep the tooth until it is naturally replaced. The canals are filled with a paste that resorbs together with the root.

What we treat and how: pick a step
Pulpitis
Pulpitis is inflammation of the pulp. In baby teeth the enamel and dentin are thinner and the pulp chamber is larger, so a cavity quickly reaches the nerve.
The gums are treated with a fruit-flavored gel, then a tiny injection is given.
The dentist removes the inflamed pulp, rinses the canals and disinfects them.
The canals are filled with a paste that resorbs together with the root when the tooth is naturally replaced.
The crown is rebuilt with a light-cured filling or a pediatric crown: a tooth without pulp loses some of its strength.
Deep cavity
Has spread through the enamel and dentin to the pulp.
Inflamed pulp
In children, pulpitis often comes with pain at night.
Inflammation at the root
With periodontitis, the infection spreads to the bone.
Permanent tooth bud
Without treatment, the infection can damage the permanent tooth bud.
Gel on the gums
A topical gel numbs the gums before the injection.
Tiny injection
Two-step anesthesia: the injection comes only after the gel.
Pulp chamber
The dentist removes the inflamed pulp from it.
Instrument
The dentist uses it to clean the canals.
Canals
The canals are rinsed and disinfected.
Paste in the canals
A zinc oxide eugenol or calcium hydroxide paste with an antiseptic effect.
Paste in the chamber
Fills the pulp chamber above the canals.
Permanent tooth bud
The paste does not interfere with the natural resorption of the roots when it is time for the tooth to be replaced.
Filling
A light-cured filling rebuilds the crown of the tooth.
Pediatric crown
Protects the tooth from chipping while chewing until it falls out naturally.
Paste
Resorbs together with the root when the tooth is replaced.
Root canal treatment of baby teeth means removing the inflamed pulp in cases of pulpitis or periodontitis, disinfecting the canals and filling them with a paste that resorbs together with the root, so the tooth can be kept until it is naturally replaced.

First the gums are treated with a topical gel, then a tiny injection is given.
Zinc oxide eugenol or calcium hydroxide pastes have an antiseptic effect and resorb together with the root.
After treatment, the tooth is rebuilt with a light-cured filling or a pediatric crown.
The appointment usually takes 30 to 45 minutes. If there is inflammation, treatment is sometimes done in two visits: the dentist decides on the number of visits at the exam.
The dentist gets to know the child and explains what they are going to do.

Prices are per the price list. The dentist draws up a treatment plan with costs after an exam and diagnostics.
Removing a baby tooth too early can cause the neighboring teeth to shift, affect the bite and speech, and leave too little room for the permanent tooth. That is why the dentist's goal is to keep the baby tooth until it is naturally replaced.
We use two-step anesthesia. First the gums are treated with a flavored topical gel, then a tiny injection is given.
Special pastes based on zinc oxide, eugenol or iodoform. They have an anti-inflammatory effect and resorb together with the root when the tooth is naturally replaced.
Usually 30 to 45 minutes. With acute or chronic inflammation, treatment is sometimes done in two visits: first the dentist calms the inflammation and places a temporary filling with medication, and a few days later fills the canals permanently. The dentist decides on the number of visits at the exam.
On the contrary, the real threat is an untreated infection. It can spread to the bone and damage the permanent tooth bud.
After root canal treatment, a baby tooth becomes less sturdy. A filling or a pediatric crown restores its shape and protects it from chipping while chewing until it falls out naturally.

I really liked this dental office. A pleasant atmosphere and a friendly attitude. I was very worried about how my son (8 years old) would handle an upper lip frenulum procedure (recommended by more than one orthodontist). So we decided to go ahead and didn't regret our choice of place and doctor, Viacheslav Vasylovych. He explained how the procedure would go, found an approach to the child, calmed him down and did everything very quickly, professionally and precisely))) So I recommend this dental office to everyone! A child's teeth are the foundation of health, and the sooner you solve problems, the better.
We came to an appointment with Viacheslav Vasylovych with my 7-year-old son. He saw my son with an urgent problem (there was a fistula on the gum, pus was coming out, his cheek was swollen). The doctor first found an approach to the child, explained everything, and removed the little tooth. Everything went great, considering that my son used to be afraid of dentists. I'd also like to mention the dental assistant, who also did everything wonderfully. And special thanks to the administrator, who understood our problem and recommended the doctor❤️ Thank you so much!
Dr. Lesia Volodymyrivna is a very professional doctor. Your children's teeth will stay healthy for a long time. If she treats them, she does it very well, not just quickly so the child doesn't cry. At other dental offices they treated us that way and didn't fully treat the cavities, just to get it over with. Lesia Volodymyrivna has a different approach: she is a master of her craft and treats her patients' little teeth very conscientiously. Thank you.
Many thanks to Dr. Yaroslav Olehovych for his professionalism, patience and caring attitude towards my 10-year-old daughter, who is now his patient! My daughter said she will only go to Dr. Yaroslav from now on😁 The staff are friendly and caring. Thank you and I wish you prosperity!
Lesia Volodymyrivna is our son's first doctor. We always enjoy going to appointments and trust his teeth only to her. Everything is great, we'll keep coming, and we sincerely recommend her.
A great dental office in terms of both atmosphere and quality. My child is treated by general dentist Anna Oleksandrivna and orthodontist Kateryna Serhiivna — wonderful, attentive specialists; all procedures are done properly, and consultations are detailed and professional.
On 4 April 2026 we saw oral surgeon Viacheslav Vasylovych for a tongue-tie release for our 8-year-old child. The doctor has a wonderful approach, the child wasn't afraid! He did everything quickly and professionally! We're happy with the result! We recommend him!💪💪💪
Yesterday was our first visit. The office was open on Sunday and during a power outage. My child urgently needed a tooth removed. We are extremely grateful to surgeon Viacheslav Vasylovych! I recommend him
We've seen Dr. Olesia Volodymyrivna twice and liked it very much🥰 The doctor is attentive, pleasant and professional🔥 My son is 7 and we managed without anesthesia) They treated cavities in his permanent teeth and placed fillings Thank you and see you again)
Olesia Volodymyrivna is a wonderful doctor. She treated my 3-year-old's teeth in one appointment. We're very pleased
Everything went super, they treated 2 of my child's teeth in an hour. Ms. Olesia did everything very professionally, and at the end they gave a sticker and a healthy lollipop. My daughter was in a good mood the whole visit, not a single tear 👌
Many thanks to Dr. Olesia Volodymyrivna, her assistant Anna and the front desk administrator. They treated my child's tooth completely painlessly and well! We are regular patients

Warning signs are sharp pain or pain at night, either on its own or when chewing, and a lingering reaction to hot, cold or sweet things that does not go away right away. Swelling, a puffy gum or a fistula (a small pus-draining opening on the gum) may appear next to the tooth.
The crown sometimes turns gray or dark. A separate case is an injury, when part of the crown breaks off and the inner tissues are exposed. In all of these situations, the child should see a dentist as soon as possible.
A cavity affects only the hard tissues, the enamel and dentin. Pulpitis is inflammation of the pulp, the bundle of nerves and blood vessels inside the tooth. In children, a cavity turns into pulpitis very quickly and often comes with pain at night.
That is why a hole in a baby tooth is best treated before it starts to hurt, while it is still a cavity. Coming in early helps stop the inflammation at an early stage, with no complications for the bone.
Per the price list, root canal treatment of a baby tooth costs from 2,600 to 3,200 UAH. The exact amount depends on the number of canals and on how the dentist rebuilds the crown: with a light-cured filling or a pediatric crown.
The dentist gives the price after the exam and puts it in the treatment plan. You can pay in installments through PrivatBank, and we also see patients under health insurance programs.
